Log Server Configuration

The RPM and Debian packages will configure this setting automatically. No further configuration is required.

On Linux, you can increase the limits by running the following commands as root.

$ su -
$ sysctl -w vm.max_map_count=262144

To set this value permanently, update the vm.max_map_count setting in /etc/sysctl.conf.

$ vi /etc/sysctl.conf
  vm.max_map_count=262144

To verify that the setting works you can print it’s value:

$ sysctl vm.max_map_count

Another file you must edit for changing limits is /etc/security/limits.conf:

$ vi /etc/security/limits.conf
  apinizer - nofile 65536
