The global log settings for all gateways are managed via the drop-down menu by clicking Stop / Start Logging in the API Analysis menu. If a log of the message traffic has been stopped on this screen, the stopped log will be seen as passive on the Formatting Screen.

When the Trace option is activated, the most detailed logging is performed regardless of the change in log settings. When this option is turned off, the settings for the gateway will be valid again.
